FAMILY PURPOSE
The C&MA in Canada is a family of churches who desire to cooperate together to love God and serve His Kingdom purposes both here in Canada and around the world.
We call our international focus "Global Ministries". Together as churches across this country we cooperate in the identification, equipping, supporting, and sending of gifted and called men and women to go to the nations.
We believe that God has given us a specific vision as a family of churches. It is best summarized in our purpose statement: To glorify God by developing indigenous movements of reproducing churches among the least-reached people groups.
Let’s briefly unpack that statement:
- “Glorify God” - Our motivation is to love God and proclaim his goodness especially to those who have not yet had a chance to hear of His redeeming grace.
- “the least-reached people groups” - Under God’s direction we desire to go to the places where there are fewer than 2% evangelicals and where there are few evangelical groups working. While affirming God’s work amongst all the peoples of the world we believe God has called us to focus on the “least reached” and “least opportunity to hear” peoples of the world.
- “indigenous movements of reproducing churches” - The Church is the heart of Christ’s continued work in the world. The formation and development of local churches, spiritual families for the children of God, is at the centre of all our activities. Building the Global Church is close to the heart beat of God.
