The Journey
The process from inquiring to serving with Global Ministries is similiar to a journey. There are progressive steps or stages of the journey (as listed below) and there are also sides to this journey. The one side is your own process of discerning God's will and receiving confirmation to His direction in your life. The other side is the formal application process.
Here is a snap-shot of what you can generally expect on the journey ahead (variations to these steps may occur depending on applicant):
EXPLORER/INQUIRER
At this point you are not exactly sure what God would have you do. Information and dialogue is important in order to help you discern God’s direction.
Applicant
During this stage we will get to know you more and you will get to know some of the ministry opportunities around the world.
Candidate
Moving to this stage, our teams work with you as you go through the process of becoming a licensed worker with Global Ministries.
Pre-Appointee
If applicable, medical and psychological assessments are administered to evaluate physical fitness and psychological health for serving internationally.
_APPOINTEEInterview for Pre-Appointment is successfully completed and the CONVERGE Directors present your application to the President’s Cabinet for approval. If you are applying as a fully-funded worker, your application will also undergo approval by the Board of Directors of the C&MA in Canada.
INTERNATIONAL WORKER with the C&MA IN CANADA
Upon successful completion of all these stages, including the approval of the President’s Cabinet and, if needed the Board of Directors, you will be notified of their decision. After you formally accept the appointment in writing, you become an official GM International Worker!
