PREFACE For Desert sand postings

“At the edge” – this phrase captures what is happening and continues to be needed in the Sand Region. Places and people long thought to be behind impenetrable walls are reachable through the myriad of creative approaches through each of the 4 ministry tracks. The least-reached by the Gospel need mature disciples of Christ to intentionally create relationships and meet needs that will lead them to Christ and establish faith communities where none now exist.

The Sand region needs passionate, equipped and committed people who desire to use their spiritual gifts and professional training to enter the towns and cities of Africa and who will work alongside existing international workers to strategically create holistic avenues of presenting Christ to the least reached people. Depending on the country’s stance on religious activity, the professional qualifications for a visa will be determined. Some countries still remain open to overt evangelism and church ministry activities while others limit foreigners to work visas only. In all scenarios, there remains a need for called believers who will use their training to advance the Kingdom in that country. From medical work to community development, from ESL to educators in public or private institutions, from evangelists to church planters, from International church staff to micro-enterprise, the openings are created through new and out-of the box thinking.

Each of the Sand workers and their teams eagerly await others who will join them in collectively being salt and light to the lost. Whatever the funding source – the C&MA, employment, retirement income, etc – the fruitfulness of being part of a collective effort is rich and rewarding. The family of Sand workers awaits your response to God’s commission.
