OVERVIEW

The Caribbean Sun region is urgently seeking an Elementary-trained teacher(s) for the 2010/11 school year.  Responsibilities include teaching approximately 7 MK (Missionary Kid) students Grade 1-7 in a 1-classroom set-up.  Teaching couples welcome.   The desired outcome is that this one room school emerge into a full international school eventually. Currently, we are using the Alberta Distance Learning Curriculum which is a home-schooling curriculum that requires work to be sent into the ADLC Centre and be marked by a teacher in Canada. Report cards are issued by the school in Canada.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• As an Elementary Teacher, you will teach ALL subjects using the Alberta Distance Learning Curriculum to a small class made up of Missionary Kid (MK) students, developing foundational relationships and overseeing their educational needs and progress. Resources are included with the curriculum although planning and teaching will be required. Students in the lower grades will need more one-on-one assistance.

• Spanish language ability an asset
